Claudia J. Stanley, 72, of Sanford passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH.She was born on April 16, 1947 the daughter of Fred and Sylvia (Hayes) Turnbull in Portland. Claudia grew up in Scarborough and graduated from Scarborough High School.Claudia served in the Women's Army Corps of Engineers. Being a lifelong learner, she always had a book in her hand and Claudia studied nursing and law. She put her skills and education to work in these fields and was currently a co owner of Residential and Community Support Services in Biddeford. Claudia was a fun loving, adventure seeker. She liked to skydive, go camping and travel, taking road trips (even if it took her across country). She also loved New Orleans, so much that she and Craig bought a condo there. Attending concerts was another thing she liked to do and was a fan of all different types of music including 50's music, jazz, and classical. She is predeceased by her parents and her aunt Lois Turnbull with whom she was very close.Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Craig Stanley Sr., her children, Matthew Jordan of Sabattus, Megan Lanois of Seattle, WA, Josh Jordan, of Waterboro, Trina Henderson, her step children, Amy Stanley and her significant other, Sean Evan, of Milwaukee, WI, and Craig Stanley Jr., of New Gloucester, her brother David Turnbull, her sister Betsy Hart, her sister Jane Kane and her husband Phil, and a granddaughters Brianna, Chloe, and Lexis and several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5, at 11:00 A.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.
