Karl R. Weeden, 62, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.He was born on September 17, 1956 to the late Rupert and Adelle (Meswoski) Weeden in Syracuse, NY.His family lived in Portsmouth, NH where he grew up and attended local schools. Upon graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1979.Karl was an automotive technician and was employed by Searway Ford, and currently at Arundel Ford for over 20 years. He was a member of both the American Legion and the Wolves Club. He liked to play darts and was a great pool player and member of the American Pool Association.A favorite past times of his was to create knives. His knives were sought out by friends, and those to receive one considered it a prized possession. He was also an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and was also a motorcycle enthusiast. Karl was a happy man and could light up a room. He was fun and had a great sense of humor. Even during his illness he remained lighthearted and positive.He is predeceased by his parents, a brother Ron Weeden.Survivors include his companion, Patty Searles, of Sanford, his daughter, Trina Weeden of AZ, a son Edwin Mann of AZ, a daughter Tara Mann of CA, a daughter Nicole Houde and her husband Craig of Sanford, a daughter Heather Currier and her husband Brian of Waterboro, a daughter Amanda Moors of FL, a son C.J. Moors, of Sanford, grandchildren Nevaeh, Julian, Summers, Alyssa, Wyatt, Bexley, Barrett, and Payton, a brother Robert Weeden and his wife Beverly of Cornish a sister in law Paulette Weeden of Limington and many friends he considered family. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, at 11:00 A.M. at Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 82 Stanley Rd. in Springvale.
