On January 15, 2023, Kathleen M. Martel passed away peacefully at the age 89 surrounded by family. \n\nKathleen served beside her husband Joseph Martel for 21 years in the Air Force while raising their family and shared 72 years of marriage. Despite her large family, Kay always made time for everyone and always provided love and support for her family and friends. Her children are proud to call her Mom. She will be missed.\n\nDaughter of Albert and Delcina Daigle Saucier, Kathleen is survived by brother Leo Saucier of Alfred Me, and sister Dorothy Lamb of Biddeford Me. Kathleen is the wife of Joseph Martel and mother of eight children: Joyce and David Hill of Yukon Ok, Diane and David Newman of Bethel VT, Roland and Meg Martel of Hershey PA, Robert and Tammy Martel of Wells, ME, Michael and Julie Martel of Saco, ME, Sandra and Ted Moreau of Englewood FL, Donna and Steven DeCoste of Springvale, ME, Debby and Craig Tripp of Dayton, ME. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. \n\nA graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, January 24th, at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 83 Stanley Road, Springvale, ME. A memorial gathering will be held following the services at the VFW located at 1 Hutchinson Street, Sanford, Maine. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed on the Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service Facebook page.\n\nIn lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Dementia Society of America, P.O.
