Leon Arel Obituary (1947 - 2022)

Leon R. Arel, 74, of Sanford, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2022. He was born on September 12, 1947 in Lowell, MA, a son of the late Leon and Lorraine (Dufresne) Arel. For many years he was employed by Local 429. He enjoyed fishing, boating and other outdoor activities. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie (Marcotte) Arel. He is also survived by two sons, Leon Arel Jr. and Steven Arel and his wife, Jill, grandchildren Liam, Elizabeth, Maggie, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. Services will be held on Saturday August 6th at 11AM at St. Joseph Cemetery 96 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
