Paul J. Gouin, 81, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Summer Commons. He was born in Sanford on April 6, 1941 a son of the late Lucien and Laurette Gouin. He attended Holy Family School and was a lifelong communicant of Saint Therese of Lisieux, Holy Family Church.
He had formerly worked in the local shoe shops, D&H Restaurant and at the Carl Lamb school for 20 years where he enjoyed interacting with the kids. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his neighbors. He was an avid beano player and loved playing cards and going to the casino with his cousins.
He is predeceased by his sister, Doris (Raymond) Cote, and his sister-in-law, Barbara Gouin.
He is survived by a brother, Roger Gouin, nieces Nancy (Rick) Drouin of North Carolina, Susan (Ken) Lavallee of Sanford, Cathy (Mike) Manuel of Sanford and Betty (Scott) Kimball of Sanford, Diane (Sam) Ellis of Waterboro, Charlene Leighton of Westbrook, a nephew Michael (Jeanne) Gouin of Biddeford and many great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 18, 2022 at St.Therese of Lisieux, Holy Family Church at 10:00am. Burial will be in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery.

I met Paul when I moved in to the same building. I pretty much took him under my wing. We always played Bingo on Tuesday Nights. We always shared stories and had So many Laughs together. He was the Greatest Man. I will Miss him Terribly. RIP My Dear Buddy
