Raymond Arthur Tebbetts, 81, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday August 23, 2007 at the Rochester Manor in Rochester, NH. He was born on August 13, 1926 in Springvale, a son of Arthur and Eva (Parent) Tebbetts. He attended local schools and in 1944 enlisted in the Maine State Guard.He was involved in the Civil Air Patrol. His working career spanned many years as a spinner in the former Goodall Sanford Textile Mills where he was a supervisor in the spinning department, the Brooks Woolen Mill and at Jagger Brothers. For 15 years he also had been employed at Gendron Lumber. He was also employed at the Old Shell Station in Sanford. He was instrumental in the local Boy Scout Troop serving as a Leader for many years. An avid vegetable gardener, he liked to share his vegetables with his family.He is predeceased by his wife, Simone Carrier Tebbetts, one brother, Roy Tebbetts.He is survived by his loving companion, Virginia Garland of Lebanon, one son, Ronald Tebbetts and his wife, Nancy of Prarie Ville, LA, three daughters, Lynn MacCannell and her husband, David of Springvale, Rita Bergeron and her husband, Norman of Lake Jackson, Texas, Stella Holt and her husband Fred of Alfred, three sisters, Mary Jane Bourque of Sanford, Joyce Croteau of North Berwick and Irene Fagan of Sanford, three brothers, Richard Tebbetts of Florida, Paul Tebbetts of Waterboro and Robert Tebbetts of Bangor, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 28 at 11am at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.
