Thelma R. Robinson, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Avita of Stroudwater in Westbrook, Maine. Born December 15, 1928 in Portage, Maine, she was the daughter of Ernest and Hazel (Murphy) Bartlett. She was one of 14 children including five brothers, Ralph, Woodrow, Gilbert, Thurman "Edwin", and James, and eight sisters, Ernestine Upton, Doris Anderson, Florence Millett, Erma "Grace" Bartlett, Ivy "Hazel" Laftis, Pauline "Polly" Savory, Virginia Bartlett, and Marilyn Robinson. Thelma would bashfully admit to being crowned Miss Potato Blossom in her late teens and she married her life-long love, Fred, June 14, 1950. They shared many adventures together across the globe while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force and while raising their four children. Thelma's favorite pastime in her later years was playing songs and hymns on the organ. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Fred O. Robinson of West Newfield, Maine, two daughters, Sandra Burnet of Hampton, New Hampshire and Brenda Wellman of West Newfield, Maine, two sons, Fred O. Robinson, Jr. of Meridian, Idaho and Christopher Robinson, West Newfield, Maine, three grandchildren, Jessie Lilly of Windham, Maine, Wendy Steadman of Rye, New Hampshire, and Kelly Burnet of St. Louis, Missouri, and two great-grandchildren.A burial will be held on May 6th, 2019 at 12pm at Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, Maine.
